Flaring – important information

Flaring is a risk to your paint and even your straight panels, that’s why next to nobody offers this service. We offer this service but only on certain panels. Bear in mind you should expect to skim and paint a flared arch to get a perfect result, and if you are lucky you won’t have to.

Rear arches
The best results are seen on cars where the bumper isn’t a part of the arch, eg Nissan 200sx, Celica etc. or where the arch already has a factory flared profile eg BMW E36. Even so flaring the rears on a flat sided car such as a Seat Ibiza is possible. Where present seam sealer will be removed from the inside of the lip before the arch can be flared. this is why we can’t flare pre-rolled arches with sealer trapped inside the rolled lip. Difficulties can arise when the flare is large including an uneven finish or paint damage. We can advise you on our experience with your car.

Front arches
Flaring fronts is difficult, as the single skin is often not strong enough to be stretched by the roller and can deform. We only flare arches which have a factory flared profile eg BMW E36 on such cars the final vertical section of the arch can be flared out.
